Excitement is the physical translation of who you really are, the way your deeper nature communicates through your body. When you feel it, you are being pointed toward the version of your life that fits you best.
The Formula
1. Act on your highest excitement: out of the options actually available to you right now, choose the one with the strongest pull. “Highest” is relative to today’s choices, and it can change from one moment to the next.
2. To the best of your ability: Commit fully. Follow the path until you can’t go any further, or until your excitement genuinely points somewhere else.
3. With zero insistence on the outcome: Demanding a specific result can backfire in countless ways. The courage is in acting and then simply finding out what happens.
4. Define the outcome as positive, whatever happens: Appreciate what comes. Trust yourself instead of labeling things as mistakes, and see the result as what you needed.
The formula is simple. Do your best and keep practicing.
The Seven Tools
The more you apply the formula, the more you will notice excitement working for you in seven ways:
1. The driving engine: Excitement motivates you. When you act on what genuinely pulls you, the energy is already there, so you don’t have to force yourself forward.
2. Positive synchronicity: Excitement organizes your life so that things fall into place: the right place at the right time, meeting the right people, receiving the right opportunity.
3. Negative synchronicity: If a door closes, you didn’t need to go through it. Paths that get blocked are often a blessing, even when you were sure you needed them.
4. The path of least resistance: Your natural frequency is the easiest route. You can surrender to the flow it creates, as long as you remember that insistence is resistance.
5. Every form of abundance you need: Abundance isn’t only money. It can arrive as a trade, a gift, a synchronicity or an idea.
6. The complete kit: Excitement brings everything relevant to the moment, including expressions of your authentic self. Nothing is left out.
7. The reflective mirror: Excitement shows you anything out of line with who you are. Resistance and fear point to beliefs you can examine and choose to change.
The Underlying Principle
There is no other reasonable choice but to act on your excitement. Once you’ve seen the formula work in your own life, you stop being tempted by anything else, and living fully in each moment becomes much easier.
Real excitement feels expansive and integrating. The chaotic charge of fear and anxiety is different, because it comes from beliefs in separation. One way to see it: it’s the same energy passing through different beliefs. If the belief fits who you are, it feels like excitement. If it doesn’t, it feels like anxiety.
